Tongli Heavy Industry identified this demand in the early equipment research and development process, and participated in the "production process" from an equipment supplier. The product concept of "being the most economical and applicable off-road vehicle in the industry" was integrated into the product research and development, and a 50-ton product was launched in the Huangshi mining area of Huaxin Cement in 2012. After comparison, the product has outstanding operating cost advantages while ensuring the total transportation capacity, and has been applied in many of its mines.
In order to meet the transportation requirements of new cement mines in China, Tongli Heavy Industry has carried out adaptive technical upgrades on dozens of items such as braking, steering, frame, and cargo box. Tongli Heavy Industry's single-sided mining cab has made multiple special research and development in terms of sealing, sound insulation and noise reduction, and shock absorption, which has achieved convenient and comfortable operation and is more in line with ergonomic principles. Tongli Heavy Industry has also developed special mining car products for the cement mining industry.

Product iteration, innovation-led
For a long time, due to foreign technical restrictions, the procurement cost of mining vehicles has been high, and users have been bearing high procurement and operating costs. Therefore, cement mines mostly use road or public-mine dual-purpose trucks, but road heavy trucks have poor reliability and safety in the application process of cement mines.
With the launch of the first wide-body dump truck for cement mines in the industry by Tongli Heavy Industry in 2009, Tongli Heavy Industry and Huaxin Cement began to cooperate in Huangshi Mining Area in 2012, which became a landmark event in the cement industry. Off-road wide-body dump trucks have brought high-value product options to customers in the cement industry.
Seven years after Huaxin Cement first used Tongli Heavy Industry products, Dujiangyan Lafarge Cement Co., Ltd. began to purchase Tongli Heavy Industry TL875 off-road wide-body dump trucks in 2019.
As Tongli Heavy Industry's products have attracted the attention of Holcim Group, the products have been sold to many Holcim mines at home and abroad.
At Holcim's African cement mine, Tongli Heavy Industry's 60t and 70t automatic off-road wide-body dump trucks have successively replaced the mine's original articulated trucks and 70t rigid mining trucks. According to the project leader, Tongli Heavy Industry's off-road wide-body dump trucks have significantly reduced fuel consumption per ton of mining compared to rigid mining trucks.
Thousands of miles to the battlefield, crossing the mountains and rivers like flying. Today, the off-road wide-body dump trucks of Tongli Heavy Industry used in many Holcim mines in Nigeria, South Africa and other places have demonstrated the "hard power" of China's research and development and manufacturing.
Ecological mines, joint efforts
Green and low-carbon cement mines will be the inevitable choice for future development. The annual fuel consumption of a 60-ton wide-body dump truck in a cement mine is about 30 tons, and 1kg of diesel emits 3.1863kg of CO₂. A tree can absorb and store 4-18 kg of CO₂ per year. If a tree can absorb about 10 kg of carbon dioxide per year, according to this calculation, the carbon emissions reduced by using a pure electric new energy wide-body vehicle of the same tonnage in one year are equivalent to planting 9,000 trees.
Tongli Heavy Industry products entered the cement mining industry in 2009, and currently more than 5,000 units have been sold in cement mines at home and abroad. In 2014, the industry's first pure electric off-road wide-body dump truck was launched. In 2021, the industry's first hydrogen fuel extended-range off-road wide-body dump truck was developed. In 2022, the industry's first methanol hybrid off-road wide-body dump truck was launched. So far, through the product portfolio of pure electric, battery replacement, hybrid, hydrogen fuel, and wire control, Tongli Heavy Industry has built a safe, green, and comprehensive intelligent new energy product system.
