LiuGong 528 Excavator Review: Beyond Green, All-Round and Intelligent

June 10,2026

Several days have passed since the conclusion of the 528 Global Customer Festival, but the 35 iron beasts on display in the excavator exhibition area have left more than just a visual impact. Against the backdrop of the country's "dual carbon" goals and the intelligent transformation of the mining industry, LiuGong excavators have provided their answer to the future of the industry with a concentrated display of full series, multi-power, and all-scenario.

01

Green Transition: From "Dipping Toes" to "Full Electric Range"

The electric excavators displayed cover a range from 2.7 tons to 135 tons, including pure electric, battery swapping, and trailing electric (power supply) technologies. This is backed by LiuGong's more than ten years of electric technology accumulation—being one of the earliest companies in China to start exploring electrification, LiuGong began researching electric technology and product planning for construction machinery as early as 2014. From the first 20-ton pure electric excavator 922F-EV rolling off the production line in 2018, to the current full range of electric product matrix, LiuGong has completed the electrification journey from "0 to 1" and "1 to N".

Under the national policy guidance that requires high-energy-consuming industries such as mining and infrastructure to gradually reduce carbon emissions, electrification is no longer an "optional" but a "mandatory" answer. LiuGong's approach is not to launch a single star product but to enable customers of different tonnages and working conditions to find suitable electric solutions: quick charging for short range, battery swapping for continuous operation, and trailing electric for remote mining. A complete electric ecosystem is taking shape.

02

Intelligent Advancement: Dual Leap in Efficiency and Human-Centricity

Intelligence at this customer festival is reflected in two aspects: one is the efficiency optimization of the equipment itself, and the other is the improvement of operational safety and comfort.

Full electric hydraulic control systems, DREAM power matching technology, PAC personalized operation adjustment... These technologies make excavators "smarter"—they automatically sense load, allocate flow on demand, and remember driving habits. The 5G remote-controlled excavator displayed at the event further liberates operators from hazardous environments, aligning with the national policy direction of "fewer people, unmanned mines".

At the same time, the upgrades to the new generation of cabs in terms of sealing, noise reduction, visibility, and vibration reduction mean that drivers no longer "expend physical strength" but "rely on mental effort". The ultimate goal of intelligence is people—lower fatigue, longer effective working hours, and higher safety.

03

All-Scenario Coverage: No Picky Scenes, No Picky Jobs

From the 7.5-ton mine safety machine to the 200-ton stripping flagship, from the 908F used in photovoltaic power stations to the 9035F that maneuvers easily in tunnels, from wheeled excavators that frequently transfer to specialized machines that continuously hammer without overheating—LiuGong excavators are not "specialized". This coverage is not a simple stacking of tonnages but a targeted response to every real working condition.

The national infrastructure construction extends from the eastern plains to the western plateaus, from large mines to urban renewal, and construction machinery must adapt to a "diverse" range of working environments. LiuGong's approach is: not to force customers to adapt to the machine, but to make the machine adapt to the customer. Every structural reinforcement, every program optimization, every cab improvement, all stem from a careful analysis of specific scenarios.
