Epiroc and Gaia Conclude 2026 Innovation Day with Focus on R&D and Customer Enga

On June 12, 2026, Atlas Copco and Gaia successfully held their sixth Innovation Day event in Xi'an. With the theme "Anchoring R&D to Empower Industry Transformation, Deep Cultivation of Customers to Drive Business Growth," the event brought together numerous industry elites to witness the annual grand event featuring "the launch of 25 new products and solutions + 2 major unveilings + 9 signings and cooperation projects + 5 industry forums covering 22 technical discussions + recognition of 26 industry records," fully showcasing Atlas Copco and Gaia's deep cultivation in the Chinese market and their latest achievements in co-creating value with customers.
▋ Customer-Centric, Anchoring High-Quality Development
Mr. Jess Kindler, President of Atlas Copco's Equipment and Service Business Area, stated in his speech that this year's Innovation Day theme reflects Atlas Copco's consistent belief: all innovation starts with customers; all R&D ends with value. Atlas Copco will continue to work with its sub-brands to delve into the field, listen to customer voices, and transform customers' "problems" into R&D "topics".

In a media interview, Mr. Jess further indicated that Atlas Copco will integrate equipment, tools, and after-sales service to provide integrated solutions covering the entire lifecycle; Gaia will rely on nearly a hundred local dealers, local R&D, and supply chain to continue practicing the brand positioning of "born for China's rock drilling market." Floris Timmers, President of Atlas Copco's Parts and Service Business Area for Europe/Middle East/Africa, said that relying on Atlas Copco's global sales and service network, Atlas Copco China will fully escort Chinese mining companies going global. Alex Grant, Vice President of Atlas Copco's Surface Exploration Business, revealed that the unveiling of the HYLOGGER 4 China Digital Core Innovation Center will propel China's mineral exploration into a "digital intelligence" new era.
▋ 25 Innovative Achievements, Major Launch
This event launched a total of 25 new products and solutions from Atlas Copco and Gaia, covering open-pit mining, underground engineering, exploration and development, construction infrastructure, drilling tools and services, and other fields. The outdoor equipment display area allowed customers to get up close and understand product performance, technical highlights, and application scenarios. Gaia's Xingping factory workshop was also opened in sync, fully showcasing the hard-core strength of the entire industry chain from R&D to manufacturing.
▋ Two Major Unveilings, Opening a New Chapter in Technological Upgrade
This Innovation Day featured two major unveiling ceremonies. The official unveiling of Atlas Copco's HYLOGGER 4 Digital Core Innovation Center, as a "one-stop mobile digital core innovation center," provides new support for the digital transformation of mining exploration. The mass production release ceremony of Gaia's GIA 0338 rock drill marks the official entry of Gaia's key core products into a new stage of full localization and mass production, further enhancing local R&D, manufacturing, and delivery capabilities.
▋ 9 Signed Projects, Running Towards Each Other with Customers
Nine signing and cooperation projects were reached at the event site, covering open-pit equipment cooperation, simulator training, channel cooperation, underground equipment procurement, joint development for special conditions, and strategic cooperation, promoting new products and solutions to accelerate towards customer sites and transform into actual market competitiveness.
