Recently, Taiyuan Heavy Industry successfully won the bid for the配套 ash lock equipment for a coal-to-natural gas project's gasifier. The gasifier used in this project has a diameter of 5 meters, making it the largest coal pressurized gasifier in the country. The ash lock is a core component of the gasifier's gasification system, responsible for collecting high-temperature ash and slag, isolating the high-pressure environment inside the furnace from the external atmospheric pressure, orderly slag discharge, and preventing gas leaks. Its operational stability directly determines the continuous and efficient operation of the gasifier, and it also poses extremely high requirements for manufacturing precision, material performance, and process levels. The ash lock for this project is approximately 4 meters wide and 4.9 meters high, making it the largest specification ash lock in the country, with significantly increased manufacturing difficulty. The design pressure has been increased from the conventional 4.6 MPa to 5.1 MPa, and the wall thickness has been increased from the previous 75 mm to 100 mm. Higher pressure and thicker tank walls have put forward more stringent requirements for production processes such as welding and heat treatment.
