Komatsu PC225LC-11M1 Excavator: High Efficiency, Fuel Economy, and Durability fo

June 27,2026

In the 20-ton class excavator market, the Komatsu PC225 series has long been a popular choice for municipal and earthmoving construction projects, earning widespread acclaim from users for its stable and reliable quality and smooth control performance. With the full implementation of the National IV emission standards, Komatsu has focused on the three major pain points of fuel consumption, control, and maintenance that users care about, and has upgraded the series to introduce thePC225LC-11M1 excavator, with even more impressive performance!

Rugged Configuration, Worry-Free Entry

The PC225LC-11M1 is a long-track model with strong passing ability on muddy and soft ground, effectively reducing the risk of getting stuck.

The machine has atotal weight of 21500kg, and comes standard with a1.3m³ large capacity earthmoving bucket, balancing efficiency and flexibility; the maximum digging depth is 6515mm, and the unloading height is 7160mm, covering a wide range of mainstream applications such as municipal trenching, housing construction earthwork, river dredging, and road repair.

The exhaust system uses DPF particulate capture technology, which is not limited by domestic environmental policies, allowing smooth access to various types of construction sites.

Hydraulic Optimization, Smooth Movement

Equipped with the Komatsu DLA045 National IV exclusive four-cylinder engine, the rated power is108kW/2200rpm, with a maximum bucket digging force of149kN and a boom digging force of108kN, providing ample power.

It features the new generation of Komatsu CLSS closed-loop load-sensing hydraulic system, which optimizes the energy loss of the main control valve and offers quick hydraulic response. Compared to the old -8 model, theresistance of the operating lever is reduced by about 30%, with delicate micro-motion control, smooth compound action synchronization, and no issues with speed loss, jamming, or body sway, making it suitable for fine trenching and leveling operations in municipal construction.

The machine is equipped withfive intelligent power modes, allowing for easy switching between light and heavy load leveling and excavation, with power output matched to all working conditions as needed.

Energy Upgrade, Cost Reduction

Fuel cost is a core expense for users and also a core advantage of this model. Based on comprehensive terminal shift data, in the E mode for greening and light load leveling on the site, the hourly fuel consumption is only 11.8 to 13L; compared to the classic PC220-8 old model, it can save4 to 5L per hour, resulting in significant fuel cost savings for long-term high-frequency operations.

The machine does not require the addition of urea, eliminating the additional costs of urea procurement, injection, and pipeline maintenance, significantly reducing the overall operational cost and allowing for faster payback.

Structure Reinforcement, Low Failure Rate

Continuing the durable product gene of Komatsu, the materials of the entire vehicle's structural components have been upgraded, with the arm and boom made of tempered and heat-treated thick steel plates, greatly enhancing their impact and deformation resistance. The chassis is fully reinforced, with thickened idler wheels, carrier wheels, and full enclosure chassis guards, providing full tolerance to bumps and stone wear, easily handling mountain roads, gravel yards, and harsh muddy construction sites.

The three major components are maturely tuned out of the factory, with low power, hydraulic, and chassis failure rates during the golden 5000-hour usage period, resulting in less maintenance investment.

Comfortable Ride, Intelligent Management

The cab features anROPS anti-rollover fully sealed structure, double-layer sound insulation design, with operating noise as low as 76 decibels, and a sealed cabin that isolates dust, improving the driving environment in harsh construction sites. The cabin comes standard with asuspension adjustable shock-absorbing seat, fully automatic air conditioning, and practical configurations such as a vehicle-mounted refrigerated cup holder, USB fast charging, and Bluetooth audio, alleviating fatigue from long-term operations.

Equipped with theKomtrax remote management system, equipment positioning, real-time fuel consumption, working hour statistics, and fault warnings are synchronized in the cloud, allowing project managers
