Recently, the world's first 5G intelligent remote-controlled forklift, jointly developed by Sany Heavy Industry and Qinggang Logistics, was officially put into use after completing multiple rounds of field testing and optimization iterations. This marks the first practical application of the equipment in a real working scenario since its public release at the global customer summit and electric intelligence product launch in January.

The Sany Heavy Industry intelligent remote-controlled forklift is centered around "separating people and goods, and dual use of one machine," integrating cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, wire control, and intelligent sensing to build a "wire control system + 5G dual-link control feedback + 360° intelligent safety" three-in-one structure, signifying a key step towards the intelligent and unmanned operation of ports.

Wire control full motion, remote operation is safe and efficient

This equipment is equipped with a fully electric wire-controlled chassis, covering four core modules: braking, steering, driving, and operation, with a steering wheel, pedals, and multi-screen display all included, allowing for precise remote control of all motions such as grabbing and releasing containers. The operation logic is completely consistent with on-site driving, with a highly restored control feel, allowing operators to stay away from high-risk sites, completely bidding farewell to the traditional high-risk model of "people following vehicles, close-up operation," and increasing equipment utilization by more than 60%.

5G dual link, meeting low fault and high efficiency

This equipment adopts a dual-operator dedicated network redundancy scheme, with two links backing each other up, reducing the link failure rate to one in ten thousand; using CRC and cyclic redundancy check dual encryption to provide financial-level protection for commands, status, and video. After optimizing 5G parameters, the delay of control commands and video transmission does not exceed 20 milliseconds, perfectly meeting the ultra-high real-time requirements for emergency handling.

360° intelligent safety, ensuring safety throughout the entire process

Safety is the lifeline of port operations. This equipment integrates multiple cameras and LiDAR to build a 360° full-angle intelligent human-machine safety system, with a pedestrian recognition rate of 99% within a 15-meter range and a false alarm rate of less than 1%. The equipment innovatively adopts a graded warning mechanism: when pedestrians are detected within a 15-meter range, it immediately triggers an audio-visual alarm and voice broadcasts the location; when pedestrians enter a 10-meter evacuation area, the equipment automatically brakes and locks the armrest, fundamentally preventing collision accidents. In addition, functions such as driving records, panoramic vision, and remote intercom, build a smart safety defense line for emergency handling and daily operations throughout the entire process.

Currently, the core technology of this equipment is independently controllable, and solutions such as 5G dual-link control feedback, wire control full motion, and intelligent safety protection have formed standardized technical modules that can be quickly replicated and applied to the remote control upgrades of various types of port machinery such as gantry cranes, forklifts, and stackers.

From the initial joint operation demonstration with unmanned flatbeds to the current official use, the world's first remote-controlled forklift has moved from "technology verification" to "practical application."
