CIMC Enric Delivers China's Largest Volume Double-Layer Vacuum Insulated Sphere Tank to Hainan Shangfa
Recently, CIMC Saint-Gobain, a subsidiary of CIMC Enric, delivered an 800 cubic meter double-layer vacuum insulated liquid nitrogen cryogenic sphere tank (hereinafter referred to as "liquid nitrogen sphere tank") to Hainan Shangfa. This liquid nitrogen sphere tank, which is the largest volume double-layer vacuum sphere tank currently built and delivered in China, signifies that CIMC's technical strength in the field of large-scale cryogenic vacuum insulated storage tanks has reached a leading level domestically.
Project initiation began in October 2025 and was completed with all tests, debugging, and delivery by July 2026, taking only 9 months to complete the entire cycle.
This sphere tank is a double-layer vacuum insulated cryogenic liquid sphere tank, for which there were no directly applicable national or industry standards in China before. During the product research and development and production process, the company's independently formulated enterprise standards were officially confirmed by the Special Equipment Licensing Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation as a conformity declaration and served as the basis for the project's design and manufacturing. The Hainan Province Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Special Equipment Inspection Institute conducted a full inspection of the sphere tank's design documents, manufacturing process, and tests based on these enterprise standards, ensuring the product's safety and compliance.
This breakthrough in standards, from nothing to something, not only ensured the smooth implementation of this project but also provided an important reference for the design and manufacturing of similar products in the future.
Before delivery, CIMC Saint-Gobain specially invited the China Special Equipment Testing Institute (which is approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation as a special equipment type test institution and has CNAS qualifications) to conduct low-temperature type tests on the sphere tank. The tests were successfully completed in early July 2026, with all performance indicators exceeding standard values, earning high recognition from the customer.
