Recently, at the "Intelligent Empowerment, Renewal Across Domains" corporate artificial intelligence high-quality development forum of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council officially released the "Hundred Industries Intelligent Vision" strategic high-value scenario achievements of central enterprises in artificial intelligence, and the "Open-pit Mine Autonomous Electric Mining Truck Intelligent Green Integrated Transportation Scenario" was successfully selected.
The selected "Huaneng Ruichi" autonomous electric mining truck is a Chinese brand jointly developed by Huaneng Group and XCMG Group over four years. It is a classic work that firmly implements the transformation of "green mines and smart mines" - integrating core technologies such as autonomous driving, 5G communication, intelligent battery swapping, and intelligent safety control. It has achieved the commercial application of the world's first batch of driverless, fully intelligent battery swapping, pure green electric drive mining equipment, and is currently the world's largest tonnage, fastest map update frequency, lowest operating environment temperature, and highest battery swapping efficiency driverless, autonomous electric mining dump truck.
Since May 2025, when a hundred autonomous electric mining trucks were put into operation at the Huaneng Yimin open-pit coal mine, the project has become the world's first hundred-level autonomous electric mining truck large-scale application case. After long-term practical operation in the mining area, it has replaced diesel more than 15,000 tons per year, reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 48,000 tons, achieved zero safety production incidents, and its operating efficiency has reached more than 120% of manned driving.
The successful selection this time is a high recognition at the national level for the deep integration of intelligent mining machinery technologyinnovationandscenario landing. It is also a strong proof that China's high-end mining machinery has achieved a leap from "following" to "leading" in the intelligent track.
