Good morning, everyone!
Today, we gather in Beijing to co-host the "2026 Zero-Emission Construction Machinery Promotion and Application Exchange Meeting" with the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences. It is meaningful to exchange ideas with you all on the opportunities and challenges of zero-emission construction machinery, to discuss the technical development direction and market application prospects of zero-emission construction machinery. First of all, on behalf of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, I would like to welcome everyone's arrival! I would like to express my gratitude to the Atmospheric Environment Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences for their care and support for the high-quality development of the construction machinery industry! I would like to congratulate and sincerely thank all relevant units for their contributions to the industry's low-carbon transformation and digital and intelligent upgrading!
At present, the world is undergoing profound energy transformation and industrial transformation. Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" targets, the low-carbon transformation and digital and intelligent upgrading of the construction machinery industry have changed from a "multiple-choice question" to a "compulsory question". The global market size of new energy construction machinery is gradually expanding, and China's new energy construction machinery has maintained a good development momentum. According to the Association's flash report statistics, from January to June 2026, the cumulative sales of electric wheel loaders of major enterprises in the industry reached 25,445 units, a year-on-year increase of 82.4%; among them, the cumulative export of electric wheel loaders was 1,643 units, a year-on-year increase of 172%. The cumulative sales of electric excavators reached 321 units, a year-on-year increase of 129%; among them, the cumulative export of electric excavators was 135 units, a year-on-year increase of 60.7%. Electric forklifts sold 691,215 units in the first half of the year, a 23.7% increase compared to the same period last year, accounting for 82.8% of the total forklift sales. The proportion of electric aerial work platforms, electric non-highway dump trucks, electric concrete machinery, and others is continuously increasing. It can be said that the Chinese construction machinery industry is steadily moving forward on the electric track.
According to forecasts from relevant institutions, in the next five to ten years, the global new energy construction machinery market is expected to climb significantly, with the compound annual growth rate remaining high.
At the same time, we must also clearly recognize that the current zero-emission construction machinery is still in a critical period of development. Technological iteration still needs to accelerate, including electric excavators and other large-tonnage complex working conditions of new energy construction machinery still face many technical challenges, some zero-emission product cost pressures are still great, scenario applications need to be expanded, and the industrial ecosystem needs to be improved. We are pleased to see that some backbone enterprises in the industry are striving forward on this difficult road and have achieved remarkable results. From mines to municipalities, from ports to tunnels, China's zero-emission construction machinery has been recognized by more and more users at home and abroad with its comprehensive advantages of zero emissions, low noise, high efficiency, and low cost. A series of innovative achievements from various related host enterprises in the industry have not only achieved the green upgrade of their own product structures but also driven the collaborative innovation of the upstream and downstream of the industry chain, providing valuable experience and strong momentum for the electrification and green development of the construction machinery industry.
At the seventh member representative conference of the Association held in March this year, the development goal of the industry in 2026 was clarified: to maintain the stable growth of the industry's operating income, to continue to improve the penetration rate of new energy construction machinery, and to further expand the output and application range of products such as electric excavators.
At the BICES 2027 press conference held not long ago, we took "accelerating the research and application promotion of green construction machinery, promoting the industrialization of low-carbon technologies such as electrification, hydrogen energy, and hybrid power, and enhancing the independent and controllable ability of the industry chain" as one of the current key tasks of the industry.
