Sany Collaborates with Partners to Launch 'Community Emergency Response Partner

On July 28th, the "Community Emergency Response Partnership International Cooperation Project - Indonesia" (CERP IHA-Indonesia), co-initiated by the Sany Foundation, China Merchants Charity Foundation, Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Team, and the Indonesian Ulema Council (PBNU), was officially launched in Jakarta.
The Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Wang Lutong, PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf, Sany Asia Pacific Region Indonesia Government Relations Head Saanjay Shamdasani Ramchand, and representatives from all cooperating parties attended the launch ceremony, signifying the start of the implementation phase for this multi-party collaborative grassroots disaster prevention capacity building project.
Indonesia, located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, is prone to frequent disasters and has long faced challenges such as insufficient emergency rescue resources and a lack of self-rescue skills among community residents. In response, the CERP project proposes a solution of "practical training + local capacity building": introducing China's mature courses and practical experience in the field of emergency rescue to Indonesia, combining local disaster characteristics and cultural customs to provide systematic training for community leaders, and building a "government-enterprise-social organization-community" collaborative grassroots disaster prevention network.
Chairman Yahya stated at the launch ceremony: "Volunteers of the Indonesian Ulema Council are spread throughout Indonesia and can respond quickly to disasters, but they lack professional rescue capabilities." He emphasized that cooperation with Chinese professional rescue organizations can effectively fill the skills gap in Indonesia's civilian emergency forces.
The CERP project plans to transform professional rescue experience into accessible, easy-to-operate inclusive standardized disaster reduction courses. The curriculum is closely aligned with common disaster types in Indonesia, using a combination of "basic courses + localized enhancement modules," covering disaster preparedness, firefighting, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and basic medical first aid. On the day of the launch, over 60 trainees from various branches participated in practical training, and the project will subsequently be carried out in 8 community points in West Java and Central Java provinces, targeting school staff, community residents, religious students, and women's organization members, with a plan to train no fewer than 400 community leaders.
As a globally leading high-end equipment manufacturing enterprise, Sany has been deeply involved in Indonesia for many years, being an important participant in local infrastructure and a "pioneer" in disaster relief. During previous floods in Sumatra and landslides in West Java, Sany's local team responded quickly, dispatched 13 excavators for continuous two-week operations, covered 21 affected villages, benefiting over 540,000 people, and efficiently completed core tasks such as debris removal, road clearance, and mass evacuation, earning high recognition from local governments and mainstream media.
Saanjay Shamdasani Ramchand stated at the launch ceremony: "Sany will continue to increase local disaster prevention public welfare investment in Indonesia, relying on the global cooperation network and the advantages of the Asia-Pacific dealer rescue alliance, to continuously improve Indonesia's grassroots disaster prevention system."
Continue to promote the "Global Disaster Response Alliance" mechanism, replicate and promote community disaster prevention training models in more "Belt and Road" countries, build an international collaborative rescue system, and jointly safeguard home safety.
