Taiyuan Heavy's Coke Ovens Go Global: First Entry into the African Market

Recently, two sets of 4.3-meter coke ovens manufactured by Taiyuan Heavy Industry for Zimbabwe passed acceptance, marking the first successful deployment of the company's coke oven equipment in Africa. With balanced performance and reliable operation, the model has become a key breakthrough for the company's expansion into the African market and laid a solid foundation for further growth in the international metallurgical equipment sector.
Zimbabwe is rich in coal reserves but has long relied on imported metallurgical coke. Once the coke ovens enter operation, they will enable local coal resources to be processed on-site, reducing import dependence, lowering raw material costs for enterprises, and supporting the autonomous development of the local steel industry chain.
The model is a mature type that has served stably in China for years. This time, one set was refurbished and one newly built to meet the customer's needs. Taiyuan Heavy's on-site service team overcame adverse conditions such as weak local infrastructure and unstable power grids, staying on the front line around the clock and working fifteen to sixteen hours a day. Working in close coordination with the domestic technical team, they efficiently resolved on-site issues and fully safeguarded construction progress. Thanks to the stable performance of the first unit, the customer fully recognized Taiyuan Heavy's product quality. The second unit skipped the commissioning phase and passed acceptance three months ahead of schedule.
