On October 27, 2026, Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. held its 30th anniversary celebration in Xiangyang, Hubei, where it is headquartered. Leaders from the Xiangyang municipal party committee and government, representatives of both shareholders Dongfeng Motor and Cummins, board members and management of Dongfeng Cummins, representatives of Cummins China joint ventures, partners, suppliers, media and employee representatives gathered on site to look back on three decades of development, honor the generations of DCE workers who have stood their ground, review the fruits of cooperation and chart a new journey of high-quality growth.

Three Decades of Shared Growth: Building the Foundation for High-Quality Development

The growth of Dongfeng Cummins is rooted in the deepened, equal and mutually beneficial partnership between Dongfeng Motor and Cummins. Looking back at the journey:

In 1986, Dongfeng Motor and Cummins signed a technical cooperation agreement for the B-series engine, filling the gap in China's high-end diesel engines;

In 1996, the two parties formed the Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. joint venture, building a localized power industry platform in Xiangyang;

In 2003, they signed a framework agreement to expand the cooperation and enlarge Dongfeng Cummins. That same year, the company's 700,000th engine rolled off the line, marking the start of a steady path of advancement.

At this grand ceremony, Dongfeng Cummins officially launched the all-new upgraded Z14 'Dragon Leap' power product and simultaneously completed on-site delivery of both China VI and Euro VI versions. The two products are upgraded power solutions built for domestic and overseas trunk-line logistics markets, adapted to the regulatory requirements of different domestic and overseas regions, balancing efficient energy saving with stable uptime, precisely matching the core cost-reduction and efficiency-gain demands of long-haul transport customers, and bringing a brand-new power choice to the trunk-line transport market.
