Recently, the China Machinery Industry Federation announced the 2026 'China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award' projects. Sunward's project 'Key Technology and Application of High-Performance Articulating Boom Aerial Work Platforms' won the third prize for scientific and technological progress in the 2026 awards.

Focusing on common industry bottlenecks, the project tackled four directions—overall safety and stability control, high-reliability lightweight structure design, multi-condition adaptive smooth control and high-mobility travel—and overcame multiple key core technologies. Authoritative evaluation found the overall technology reaches internationally advanced level, with some parts at the international leading level, delivering notable economic and social benefits and a prominent leading role for the industry.

According to statistics, the project completed 1 scientific and technological achievement appraisal, was granted 26 patents (10 invention patents and 16 utility-model patents), and registered 8 software copyrights; it led or participated in drafting 6 technical standards, including 1 national standard. The results have been scaled up in Sunward's SWA articulated-boom and SWT telescopic-boom aerial work platform series, serving major projects at home and abroad. At sites such as the Hangzhou Yuhang International Sports Center, a PetroChina plant in the Xinjiang Gobi, and the Beijing Xiaomi Phase-II factory, Sunward's articulated and telescopic boom lifts steadily raise workers more than ten—even tens of—meters into the air; behind each safe lift is the complete set of innovative technologies built up by the project.

This award affirms Sunward's phased technological innovation and marks a fresh starting point on its path of independent innovation.
