This is a memorable new-energy heavy-duty truck. Its closed front fascia and fastback high roof complement a body built with high-strength steel and magnesium-aluminum alloy. Its curb weight is 3%–5% lower than competing products, and its “five-minute charge, 100-kilometer range” rapid energy replenishment significantly improves fleet operating efficiency and substantially reduces transport costs.
“Light” is the first word etched into this truck’s DNA.
The high-strength aluminum alloy transmission is 20% lighter than comparable products, the drive-axle housing sheds 15%, the integrated thermal-management solution cuts overall weight by 35%, and the high-alloy steel leaf spring trims its own weight by 5% while tensile strength improves by 15%. The whole vehicle is 1.3 t lighter than the previous generation. Every kilogram removed serves one purpose: let the customer haul one more kilogram of freight and pay one cent less in electricity.
Lightweight is only the foundation. What truly earned this truck the first-set laurel is the megawatt-level ultrafast-charging system inside it.
On April 10, 2025, the first prototype rolled off the line. Then came a battle with extreme environments: 45°C high-temperature calibration in Turpan, where surface temperatures could soften rubber soles; and 4,700-meter plateau calibration in Golmud, where engineers crouched on the ground, gasping for breath while logging data, each step feeling like walking on cotton.
The toughest nut to crack was thermal management. When the dual all-liquid-cooled charging guns delivered a 2400 A peak current, the connector temperature approached 95°C within 45 seconds. The project team flew to Shanghai and worked with Huawei to adjust the coolant flow distribution round by round. After repeated tests, the temperature was stably held below 65°C.
On August 22, 2025, in Beichuan, Sichuan, the world’s first 100 MW ultrafast-charging station went into operation, and 200 XCMG ultrafast-charging heavy-duty trucks were delivered in formation. Vehicles equipped with 352 kWh batteries charged from 10% to 90%—in just 17 minutes. Before that, a full charge for an electric heavy-duty truck took one and a half hours.
Xia Yongyong, Deputy General Manager of XCMG Group and Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of XCMG Automobile, said at the delivery ceremony: “Five minutes of charging gives 100 kilometers of range—on par with refueling.”
In November 2025, XCMG ultrafast-charging heavy-duty trucks successively activated trunk routes such as Panzhihua–Kunming–Mohan and Qujing–Kunming–Ruili. Ten megawatt-level products were precisely matched to different nodes: tractors for cross-border long haul, dump trucks for infrastructure material transfer, and mixer trucks for construction work. Chargers along each route were closely matched with XCMG vehicles, with deep integration of interfaces and high-voltage power distribution units, reducing current loss by 15%.
This April, the 1,046 km real-world run from Huizhou, Guangdong to Wuhan, Hubei wrapped up, arriving one hour ahead of schedule. This was the first time a Chinese electric heavy-duty truck completed a commercial closed loop on an interprovincial trunk route. To date, more than 20 ultrafast-charging logistics routes are rapidly forming a network, and 14 products across three categories—tractor, dump truck, and mixer truck—have achieved full-application coverage.
Customer choices are always the most honest.
From January to July 2026, XCMG sold approximately 27,000 new-energy heavy-duty trucks, capturing about 16.2% market share and ranking first in the industry for the third consecutive year. In July, traditionally a slow month, XCMG sold 5,342 units, up 87% year on year.
Why is the market choosing it? Logistics operators have done the math: saving 1.5 yuan per kilometer in energy costs means 150,000 yuan in net savings over 100,000 km a year, equivalent to a free new truck after three years. Depot charging turnaround improves, lifting overall operating efficiency by more than 15%. The technological advance of the first-set product ultimately shows up as solid numbers on the financial statements.
Zhuang Mingxing, Deputy General Manager of XCMG Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. New Energy Vehicle Company and Director of the New Energy Application Center, said: “We do not compete on price; we compete on quality and value.” After the new model was launched in volume, he and the engineers maintained the same sprint mindset: collecting data on the test track, debating thermal-management schemes in the office late at night, and questioning every detail—“Can we cut another kilogram?” “Can we charge one minute faster?”
