Recently, Shantui successfully delivered large mining equipment to a major open-pit mine in Tibet, including multiple GH36-C6 high-horsepower mining motor graders and SR40-G road rollers. Situated at an altitude of up to 5,400 meters, the site is a world-class ultra-large porphyry copper mine with the highest elevation and largest mining and processing scale globally. Shantui heavy-duty equipment takes on high-altitude, high-load mining operations and brings strong power to mine site work.
At plateau working conditions above 4,000 meters, extreme environments such as oxygen deficiency, intense ultraviolet radiation and large temperature swings place extremely strict demands on the power, reliability and cold resistance of construction machinery. The SR40-G road roller delivered this time is a new-generation large-tonnage hydraulic dual-drive single-drum vibratory roller developed by Shantui. With an operating mass of 40 tons, it delivers exceptional gradeability and outstanding recovery from slipping conditions. The machine uses non-impact vibratory drum technology for smooth and reliable vibration start and stop, and supports multiple speed modes to handle a wide range of complex materials.
Delivered alongside it, the GH36-C6 motor grader is a new-platform high-horsepower mining grader developed by Shantui for domestic and international customers, and is the industry's largest hydrostatic-drive motor grader. The hydrostatic drive raises operating efficiency by 10% and cuts fuel consumption by 20%. The electronically controlled dual-lever layout reduces operator arm movement by more than 70%, greatly improving operating comfort. A maintenance-free slewing bearing work device brings overall machine performance to internationally advanced levels.
The successful delivery to this high-altitude mine marks another major breakthrough for Shantui in the ultra-high-altitude mining market. Shantui will continue to focus its R&D and product iteration on special operating conditions such as plateau and severe cold, using smarter and more reliable equipment to demonstrate the strength and responsibility of Chinese manufacturing on the roof of the world.
