Extreme Testing Builds the Safety Line! Zoomlion Aerial Work Platforms Go Deep i

October 25,2026

Every summer, when open construction sites, steel-structure venues, municipal maintenance and warehousing-logistics sites are shrouded in heat, all kinds of working equipment face the year's toughest test. Under intense heat and sun, enclosed spaces dissipate poorly, and with the equipment's own heat generation, the local temperature of key components far exceeds ambient.

To further test products' high-temperature characteristics, in mid-to-late August Zoomlion Intelligent Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) took several star models straight to China's "land of fire" — the Turpan Flaming Mountains — for a two-week extreme high-temperature dry-heat test! Using the harshest natural furnace to forge an all-weather, highly reliable safety foundation.

Why Go to the Turpan Flaming Mountains? Forging Real Durability in the "Sun-Baked Purgatory"

Many lessors and contractors wonder: the equipment has already been rigorously tested at the plant — why make a special trip thousands of kilometres away to the Turpan Flaming Mountains?

The answer is simple:

A normal-temperature lab cannot reproduce a real high-temperature worksite!

In ordinary test environments, equipment rarely exposes potential problems under high-temperature loaded operation. But Turpan's Flaming Mountains have high temperature and strong sunshine, with on-site measured air temperatures up to 55°C and ground-surface temperatures exceeding 70°C — a natural "high-temperature purgatory" test site.

Zoomlion AWP brought the following main products to the site to simulate real loaded operation under extreme conditions:

This test: 7 models

ZT58J diesel straight boom; ZT32JE new-generation electric straight boom; ZT21JEH new-generation range-extended straight boom; ZS0607AC-Li lithium scissor lift; ZTH2506E telehandler; ZX37T spider lift; F35EC

Only by passing the test here can we ensure that when the equipment reaches the customer, "lab-qualified" also means "site-proven."

Five Extreme Tests — All-Around Assurance for Real Application Scenarios

Through the Flaming Mountains' high-temperature forging, Zoomlion AWP gave hardcore answers across five core dimensions, precisely safeguarding every construction condition:

TEST 01 — Hydraulic system

On-site pain point: Long high-temperature operation hardens and ages hydraulic seals, causing internal/external leakage; excessively high oil temperature also slows movements and hurts efficiency.

Measured answer: Thanks to excellent thermal-balance design, the test vehicles showed ample thermal margin. After long high-intensity continuous lifting and telescoping, the whole machine controlled temperature excellently with stable power output, showing no leakage or sluggish action from high oil temperature.

TEST 02 — Electronic control

On-site pain point: High temperature easily causes ECU line signal drift or protective faults, locking the equipment suddenly and trapping operators at height.

Measured answer: In the Flaming Mountains high-temperature reliability test, even at midday peak temperatures with frequent loaded runs, the safety protection mechanisms and ECU system remained highly stable. No false alarms, no dropouts — ensuring aerial personnel go up steadily, work securely and come down safely.

TEST 03 — Battery performance

On-site pain point: In summer high temperatures, electric equipment's charge/discharge performance easily degrades, sharply shrinking full-charge range and slowing construction with frequent charging.

Measured answer: In the high-temperature endurance and discharge-performance special test, the aerial and forklift equipment equipped with lithium batteries and e-drive systems maintained stable battery temperature and discharge performance, with range holding up well under continuous high-temperature operation — ensuring reliable attendance even during the summer peak.
