Sany and Guangdong Liete roll out 250,000 t·m Hualong One ring crane
September 03,2026
On August 31, the 250,000 t·m ring-track crane jointly developed by Sany Heavy Lifting and China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Thermal Power LITECH Company officially rolled off the line at Sany's Huzhou Industrial Park in Zhejiang. Su Zimeng, president of the China Construction Machinery Association, attended the event and, together with guests on site, witnessed an important moment in the development of China's high-end lifting equipment.
The unit solves the lifting challenge of the Hualong One 2.0 "one machine, two islands" construction method, marking a key breakthrough in the localization of China's ultra-large-tonnage nuclear-power lifting equipment.

With the adoption of the Hualong One 2.0 "one machine, two islands" construction method, the industry urgently needed heavy equipment capable of completing all module lifts for two nuclear islands with a single machine. The requirements for working radius, load capacity, and lifting precision are extremely high. In the past, technology for this type of high-end equipment was long controlled by a handful of overseas companies. After seven years of technical research, the R&D team overcame multiple technical barriers and turned foreign-controlled chokepoint technology into core equipment for China's nuclear-power construction.

This 250,000 t·m ring-track crane combines three outstanding advantages: robust performance, efficient operation, and intelligent safety.
In performance, the crane uses a 137m+66m ultra-long boom combination, significantly improving lifting capacity in medium-to-large-radius nuclear-power conditions. With a single position and one operating mode, it can meet lifting requirements.
In energy efficiency, the entire machine adopts an all-electric drive. It can connect directly to the industrial grid and operate, delivering zero emissions and low noise. Using this equipment can shorten nuclear-power project schedules by 15%, reduce operating costs compared with traditional fuel-powered equipment, and cut site costs and logistics costs by 20% and 30%, respectively.
In safety, the crane is equipped with digital systems including intelligent anti-collision, 360° surround view, remote fault diagnosis, rope-disorder detection, facial recognition, and operation behavior recognition. A full set of digital safeguards minimizes on-site operating risks.

At the rollout ceremony, Yu Hongfu, director of Sany Group and vice chairman and president of Sany Heavy Industry, issued the boom-raising command. Xie Tao, chairman of Sany Heavy Lifting, officially announced the successful rollout of the world's first 250,000 t·m ring-track crane.

From the 4,500-ton crawler crane to today's 250,000 t·m ring-track crane, Sany has kept climbing the peak of heavy equipment technology over the past five years. In the future, Sany will continue to focus on technological innovation, deepen its presence in the high-end nuclear-power equipment sector, break through core technologies, and iterate premium products. Together with partners, it will pursue mutual success and write a new chapter for China's high-end equipment manufacturing.
