Taiyuan Heavy Industry Group opens top school for employees' children

Under the warm autumn sun and with the sound of reading filling the air, the first cohort of students at Taiyuan No. 5 Middle School Zonggai Wenyuan School welcomed their opening day today as the school bell rang. The long-held wish of TYHI employees to send their children to a top-tier school right at their doorstep has become reality.
Bringing quality education resources to support the company’s residential housing is a key employee wellbeing project TYHI has advanced this year. The promise has been fulfilled with full commitment, and the company has delivered a satisfying result for its hardworking employees.
Just across the road from TYHI’s supporting residential housing stands the brand-new campus. Children walked into classrooms with laughter and joy, and the atmosphere was filled with youthful energy. “Having our children attend a good school nearby gives us more drive at work and in life,” said one employee parent, voicing the shared feeling of countless TYHI staff.
From the school’s signing in May to its opening for enrollment in September as scheduled, the company kept employees’ pressing concerns at heart. Through a four-party joint effort by TYHI, the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, the Taiyuan Municipal Education Bureau, and Taiyuan No. 5 Middle School, a “top school at the doorstep” rose from the ground in just a few months.
As a new campus of Taiyuan No. 5 Middle School, the school starts operations as a public nine-year integrated school, with plans to establish 66 classes covering primary and junior secondary education. It fully implements an integrated development strategy of “mutual teacher dispatch, shared resources, unified teaching, and unified assessment.” The junior secondary teaching team is carefully selected from existing Taiyuan No. 5 Middle School campuses, while the primary teaching team is recruited competitively from society, providing every student with high-quality educational resources from the start.
