Content Validity:Rewriting the power of wind, a new record has been set with the installation of the world's tallest onshore wind turbine, standing at an astonishing 204 meters high. This achievement was made possible by the XGL3300-220S telescopic crane from XCMG.
Previously, onshore wind turbine heights in China ranged from 140 to 160 meters. This new height, equivalent to a 70-story building, is not just a number; it represents a monumental increase in lifting difficulty. The crane had to lift a 100-ton nacelle and a 221-meter diameter rotor at such a height, demanding extreme precision and strength.
The XGL3300-220S, with a maximum lifting capacity of 220 tons and a lifting height over 220 meters, was equipped with an automatic correction system that ensures stability and accuracy during the entire lifting process. Its micro-motion control system allowed for a 5mm/s lifting speed and 3mm point precision, placing components with seamless accuracy.
In the face of extreme wind conditions, the XGL3300-220S demonstrated its high load-bearing structure and strong wind resistance, capable of withstanding winds up to 6 levels in operation and 10 levels when not working. Its high rigidity and large base plate at the leg bottom enhance the ground compaction, effectively resisting lateral winds and ensuring stability.
This 204-meter milestone not only represents a new height for onshore wind power but also a significant step in XCMG's equipment capabilities. Upon full capacity operation, the project is expected to generate about 200 million kWh of electricity annually, saving over 60,000 tons of standard coal and reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 160,000 tons. The core components, including the main engine, blades, and tower, are all domestically produced, achieving a 100% localization rate.
The successful first lift of this project has comprehensively tested the reliability of the XGL3300-220S.
