On the site of the South-to-North Water Diversion's Middle Route's Yangtze River to Han River project, we've witnessed a historic moment—the grand launch ceremony of the 'Jianghan Pioneer' TBM boring machine. This largest single-shield hard rock boring machine in China marks a new chapter in our nation's water conservancy construction. Linking the Three Gorges Project with the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the Yangtze River to Han River project will significantly enhance water supply capacity and water resource allocation capabilities, with an annual average water diversion of 3.9 billion cubic meters. Facing complex geological conditions, the 'Jianghan Pioneer' is equipped with advanced geological forecasting systems and shield machine early warning systems, innovatively achieving synchronous pushing and lining technology, increasing construction efficiency by 20% to 40%. The China Railway Equipment Service Team, in close cooperation with the owner unit, completed the assembly and commissioning of the 12-meter TBM in just two months, demonstrating exceptional engineering strength. The successful launch of the 'Jianghan Pioneer' provides valuable experience for the application of domestic tunnel boring machines in long-distance, deep-buried water diversion projects.
