Recently, the "Safe Northern Frontier · 2026" full-scale forest fire drill in the Greater Khingan primitive forest area and the integrated emergency firefighting drill organized by the National Fire and Rescue Administration in Inner Mongolia were held successively.

Back-to-back national drills highlight equipment capability

As a representative of domestic high-end intelligent emergency rescue equipment, XCMG displayed its ET121 walking excavator, XUV25 unmanned transport platform, and other highly mobile equipment at the two national-level drills. The equipment carried out exercises in water-based firefighting, firebreak construction, and material transport, becoming a closely watched "solid force" on the drill ground.

All-terrain "Steel Mantis": water-based firefighting in treacherous terrain

Equipped with four independently hydraulically driven "long legs", the machine walks as nimbly as a mantis, can climb slopes up to 45°, cross 4 m-wide ditches, surmount 2.4 m obstacles, and wade through 2 m of water, handling mountains and rivers as easily as flat ground. Its high-pressure firefighting water cannon has a maximum range of 88 m and can work with fire tankers to suppress fire lines; deep in dense forest, it can quickly excavate water storage ponds to provide a stable water source for frontline pumps, greatly improving water-based firefighting efficiency.

Unmanned transport platform: bridging the "last kilometer" of material delivery

The platform has an 800 kg payload and can operate stably at altitudes up to 5,500 m and in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 50°C, with functions including automatic following and obstacle climbing. During the drill, it accurately delivered first-aid supplies and spare tools to the front line, effectively reducing rescuers' load and improving logistics support efficiency.

Ground-air coordination builds a new three-dimensional rescue model

Forest fire suppression emphasizes integrated ground-air coordination. During the drill, helicopters handled aerial reconnaissance and airlifted materials, UAVs delivered firefighting gear, the XCMG walking excavator advanced on the fire line and cleared isolation passages on the ground, and the unmanned transport platform supported material supply in parallel, forming a "
